From the luxurious comfort of her Seraphina 2.0 wedding dress to her one-of-a-kind photographer, we were honoured to hear from Abby about all the stunning details of her Summergrove Estate wedding.
What was your wedding theme and what style of wedding did you go for?
We wanted a simple and romantic wedding, nothing too over the top! We kept our colour scheme to red wine and gold to tie in with the bridesmaids.
What were some of your fave style details of your wedding?
I was in love with my flowers by ‘bits and buds,’ the arrangement on our tables was one of my favourite things. Also, the beautiful grounds at Summergrove allowed us to have so much fun during our couple photos, climbing hills and sitting around old wood.
What was your best moment of the day with your groom?
When I saw him at the altar I was a total teary mess! That’s a moment I will never forget, but spending some one on one time during our couple shots was lovely. Despite the cameras we had some beautiful first moment as husband and wife.
Did you end up with the style of wedding dress that you thought you would get when you initially set out shopping?
I did not really have a strong idea of what I wanted, that’s why the process was a long one. I tried on many dresses in many beautiful boutiques with my bridesmaids but had no luck in finding “the one.”
It wasn’t until I decided to journey to the GC Bridal Lounge with only my mum, that I found a dress I absolutely loved!
What did you love about your gown?
I loved the lace, both layers! The double strap was so unique and the train made me feel like a princess. The dress let me move, dance and jump, even in the heat of January.
How was your experience with GC bridal lounge?
Unbelievable, the ability to tweak and alter the dress to suit me was amazing.
The communication after ordering my dress was efficient and speedy. It was also so refreshing to have the whole boutique to ourselves, alongside Candace, a super friendly and helpful stylist who gave me plenty of advice.
What did you love about your venue:
The ceremony at Summergrove was our dream venue, high up in the hills and mountains, we fell in love with the quaint chapel. Parkwood Village for our reception was perfect. The coordinator Mel went above and beyond for us, adding extras and supporting us during the whole process.
Any advice for brides wedding dress shopping?
If you can, go shopping with a small group of one or two, sometimes there were so many people and opinions it was hard to hear my own. Also, don’t be hesitant to ask the stylist anything, Candace at the GC bridal lounge knew everything about my dress and supported me to make any tweaks and changes I desired.
Any wedding advice for brides in general?
Among all the flowers, lights, dresses and more, never lose sight of the sole purpose of the day, to enter into a lifelong commitment with your best friend. Take moments aside and soak it all in, it’ll fly by!
Besides us are there any vendors you’d like to recommend or you’d like us to mention?
My photographer, nevermist photography. Sinead is one of a kind! Her relaxed persona puts everyone at ease, her quality of work is exceptional. Nevermist was so flexible during the whole wedding, capturing everything with ease!
